나의 작업은 확신이 자리 잡기 전, 마음이 내리는 순간의 결정에서 출발한다. 그림을 그리는 동안 나는 망설임과 결단 사이를 오가며, 기억의 파편들을 눈과 손의 협업으로 더듬어 이어 붙인다. 망설임이 남긴 흐릿한 흔적과 충동적으로 그어진 과감한 선, 실패나 과잉의 흔적까지도 최종적인 이미지의 중요한 요소가 된다. 이 모든 것이 겹겹이 쌓일 때, 이전에 존재하지 않았던 형태가 비로소 모습을 드러낸다.

하나의 선을 긋는 일조차 무엇을 포기하고 무엇을 끝까지 밀어붙일 것인지 묻게 만드는 윤리적 선택처럼 느껴질 때가 있다. 선명함을 위해 미결정의 잔여들을 희생할 것인가, 혹은 욕심을 내려놓아 공감의 문턱을 낮출 것인가. 작업의 과정은 자신감과 후회, 해방감과 부담 사이를 진동한다. 나는 모든 형태를 받아들이고 과정에 몸을 맡기며, 그 속에서 겪는 실패와 성공의 기억을 작업의 일부로 품고자 한다. (축약본)

My work begins with a momentary decision of the heart—one that arises before certainty takes shape. As I paint, I move back and forth between hesitation and determination, piecing together fragments of memory through the collaboration of the eye and the hand. The blurred traces left by doubt, the bold lines drawn on impulse, and even the marks of failure or excess all become essential components of the final image. When these layers accumulate, a form that has never existed before finally reveals itself.

Even drawing a single line can feel like an ethical choice—asking what must be abandoned and what must be carried through to the end. Should clarity be pursued at the cost of sacrificing all that remains indeterminate, or should one let go of personal desire to lower the threshold of empathy? The process of working oscillates between confidence and regret, between liberation and burden. I hope to embrace every form and surrender myself to the process, holding the memories of both failure and success as integral parts of the work. (summary)
